ABOUT CALICO CROSSROADS®
CALICO CROSSROADS® is a needleart design company that produces counted thread designs in leaflet and chartpak format as well as some bead patterns. This year we celebrate our 18th year!
My goal is to share my love of needlework with other stitchers. I pride myself on my innovative designs with quality instructions that enable stitchers everywhere to recreate my designs with needle and thread by hand & machine.

The principals of Calico Crossroads® include me, Linda Connors, and my husband, Jim (mostly me). I do everything including all of the design and digitizing work plus all computer charting, all model stitching, finishing and some of the framing. Jim does some of the photography and digital imaging as well as the accounting.

We have two cats that let us live with them (with all those Kats by Kelly™ designs how could there NOT be a couple of cats involved?). Dexter who is 8 years old this year (the black/white one) and our newest girl called Maddie (the black one) who will be two on April 25, 2010. Dexter was not too keen on having a new baby sister, but he is slowly coming around and they are destined to be fast buddies very soon, I'm sure (I hope). They are a lot of company and I would not be catless for anything. (We lost 17-year-old Murphy to old age in July 2008 and we were sorry to see him go.)
All my life I've been involved in one way or the other with the fiber arts. Throughout the years, I've tried my hand in many forms of fiberart including macrame, knitting, sewing, embroidery, crocheting, weaving, crewel, spinning, natural dyeing, needle-point, beading, batik and too many different needlework techniques to name. I also am an avid beader. However, I fell in love with counted thread work in 1982 and have been an obsessive stitcher ever since. I designed my first piece for a contest and although I didn't win, I was hooked and have continued to design from that time on. My design range is very eclectic as I like to experiment with many different styles, fibers, fabrics and embellishments which I hope my stitchers appreciate, too.

There are two aspects of designing that I find the most rewarding and fun. One is the unfettered freedom of expression. The other is hearing from stitchers how much they enjoy my designs. It makes me very happy to know that I've brought a little joy and beauty to someone's life.
I always love to hear from stitchers, so feel free to write, fax or e-mail me at any time.
Happy stitching and enjoy!
Always in stitches,
Linda Connors
